Oman experiences a desert climate, so pack lightweight, breathable clothing for the day and a light jacket for cooler evenings.

Modest dress is recommended in public areas, especially when visiting mosques or traditional villages. Women should carry a scarf for mosque visits. Comfortable walking shoes, sunblock, sunglasses, and a reusable water bottle are highly recommended for sightseeing.

The official currency is the Omani Rial (OMR); credit cards are accepted in most urban areas, but it’s wise to carry some cash for small purchases in souks or remote areas.
